Can you play rugby with protective eyewear?

I can see perfectly but are you allowed to play rugby with glasses that are jsut for protection.

No, you cant. No need for it either: you are protected from big objects (like a fist) by the nose, and the odds of a cleat hitting your eyes are negligible.

yeah, but doesn’t that kinda defeat the purpose, if no one gets hurt then it wasn’t a good game

ive never heard of people wearing protective eyewear in rugby. i think it would just get in the way. you really dont need it anyway.

The only protective things for your eyes is the ref, and they can be very unpredictable, usually retribution will come after you lose an eye and the other guy gets an early shower and use up all the hot water before anyone else can
