How much should I expect to pay for prescription eyeglasses?

I have made an appt. to get fitted for some prescription eyeglasses. It will include the exam, prescription, frames and lenses. I am just going to one of those "vision center" type places, this one is called Dr. Barnes Eyewear Express.
My question is, how much should I expect to pay for the entire process? What is the average cost for a pair of glasses. I don’t have horrible eyes, and I don’t want anything fancy.
It depends on if you need bifocals or not, if you get tinted, or UV, or expensive frames.
I can cost only $100.00 at some places, without any extras.
Mine cost $300-$330 usually.
That is after the exam cost, which is separate…$40-50.

It really depends on where you go. Some places will give you a great deal (2 pairs for $99 or something).
The last time I bought glasses without insurance, I paid a little over $100 for them & the lenses. I did not get the exam, as I had already had this done. Usually they don’t charge you much for the exam, if they charge you at all.
Hope this helps..

You could always call them up for prices and an estimate. Eye examination is usually around $50-75. The other costs will depend on what type of frame you choose, from basic models to the insane markups for designer frames or frameless glasses. Ranging from $99 to $400.
If you want truly cheap glasses, go to Costco, or Sears. You can probably get everything within $100-200.
