I know a lot of people who are supposed to wear glasses, like to wear contact lenses. If you wear contact lenses, do you prefer to wear glasses when shooting a firearm. What is your opinion on eyewear for people who shoot firearms. Between contacts and glasses, which is better for shooting.
Eye glasses all the way. In fact, I have a special pair that I use for hunting and shooting.
Glasses have saved my eyesight at least twice in my life. One of those times when I was firing a simple 22 LR target rifle. The cartridge case ruptured and sent hot gases and powder residue back through the bolt and into my face. It stung a bit and my eye glasses were covered in a grey soot. When I wiped the soot off, there were deep marks in the lenses from the minor blast. Had I not been wearing glasses, those particles would have hit me in the eyes.
